Why we selected this product

We have carefully selected this composition. Not the most markers, but the most meaningful for men who want to know their testosterone status.

We measure total testosterone and SHBG together, because SHBG determines how much testosterone is bioavailable. The calculation from testosterone divided by SHBG (clinically known as FAI, Free Androgen Index) provides a more reliable picture of bioavailable testosterone than a direct free testosterone measurement, which is notoriously inaccurate in regular labs.

We include estradiol because in men it shows how much testosterone is converted into estrogen. An important part of the hormonal balance.

What you won't find here: LH, prolactin or TSH. These are not standard in this package, because they only become relevant with specific complaints or abnormalities. TSH is already included in your Labs basic panel.

This test is an extension of BeatsWell Labs. You order it in addition to your annual subscription, after which the results are immediately processed in your Protocol.

With the BeatsWell Edit, we take the research off your hands. You choose with confidence: every test is carefully composed based on clinical value and reliability. Read heremore about how we select.

Usage

This test will be added to your annual BeatsWell Labsblood draw. An active Labs annual subscription is required.

One extra tube of blood will automatically be drawn during your appointment at the blood collection center. No extra needle stick, no extra visit.

The lab will process your sample within a few business days. We will send you an email as soon as the results are available.

Shortly thereafter, we will incorporate the values into your personal Protocol, with concrete actions for nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle.

Ingredients

What we measure in this package, and why it matters:

Total Testosterone: Your primary hormone for muscle mass, energy, and libido. Low levels can cause fatigue, muscle loss, and low libido. It gradually declines from age 30.

SHBG: The protein that binds testosterone and makes it inactive. If too high, much of your testosterone is bound, leading to fatigue and low libido despite normal levels. Low levels indicate insulin resistance or liver burden.

Estradiol (E2): How much testosterone is converted into estrogen. High levels in men can cause fat storage and mood swings. Low levels undermine bone strength and libido.

Bioavailable Testosterone Fraction: How much testosterone your body can actually use. Clinically the most important marker for how you truly feel. Calculated from total testosterone divided by SHBG. Clinically known as the Free Androgen Index or FAI.

What we deliberately don't measure, and why:

Free Testosterone (direct measurement): notoriously unreliable in standard labs. The method used is imprecise, especially with abnormal SHBG. We calculate it from testosterone and SHBG. This is the global clinical standard.

LH and Prolactin: Only relevant for specific complaints or abnormalities. For screening testosterone status, they add nothing. A waste of money as an extra marker.

TSH: Already measured in your Labs basic panel. Measuring it twice makes no sense.

Safety

This is a preventive health test, not a medical diagnostic examination. The BeatsWell Protocol offers guidance based on your values, but it is not medical advice.

In case of abnormal values, we will refer you to the Wellbeing team, and where relevant to a specialist from our network. If you have concerns or complaints, always consult your general practitioner or specialist.

This test is available for individuals aged 18 and older.

Your blood sample will be processed at a certified EU lab. Your data will be processed in a GDPR-compliant manner.
